Free WebFiling for accounts is ending — get ahead of it
Companies House is ending free WebFiling for company accounts: from April 2028, accounts must be filed with commercial software. AccountsWebFiling lets company directors file their own micro-entity, dormant and small-company accounts online in minutes — no accountant required.
✓ Validated against Companies House's own checks before you file ✓ Secure sign-in with two-factor authentication ✓ From £15 a year
For years, directors filed their company accounts for free through Companies House WebFiling. From April 2028 that route closes: web and paper filing of accounts ends, and accounts must be filed using commercial software. (The separate free HMRC and Companies House joint service for accounts and tax returns already closed in 2026.) Many directors of small and dormant companies are left without an obvious, affordable way to file themselves.
AccountsWebFiling fills that gap: a straightforward online tool that prepares your accounts in the correct iXBRL format and files them directly with Companies House — the same electronic filing route the professional software uses.
Search the Companies House register — we fill in your company details and accounting dates for you.
A guided form for your balance sheet. We can even bring forward last year's figures from the public record.
We check your accounts against Companies House's own validator, then submit them for you and track the result.
FRS 105 — the simplest accounts, for the smallest companies. A balance sheet with the required statements.
For companies that haven't traded — the quick annual filing that keeps you compliant.
FRS 102 Section 1A, full or abridged, filed filleted with Companies House.
